2010 Big Red Football Camp

The Big Red Football School has been one of the nation's top camps for decades, and our staff has implemented new ideas to make it the best experience possible.

  • Outstanding clinicians teach and break down the techniques and drills for campers and coaches. We will cover all positions in these camps, including long snappers and kickers.
  • Campers will have ample opportunity to showcase their skills to the Nebraska coaching staff as well as coaches from other colleges and universities.
  • Campers will gain knowledge about how to mentally prepare for competition, expertise in the field of Husker strength and conditioning, as well as how to maintain proper nutrition for optimal performance.
  • Team leaders will be assigned to assist you with motivating, encouraging, counseling and instructing campers throughout the week.
  • A national atmosphere with campers from across the country.
  • The Big Red Football School will benefit you from a competitive standpoint, as well as a technical one. We will assemble teams from our individual camper registration for competition reasons, and ensure each player is on a team.
  • Location, Supervision and Facilities - The Big Red Football School will be held on the University of Nebraska campus in Lincoln. One of the University’s residence halls will be utilized for all sessions. Practice will be held on Memorial Stadium’s Field Turf as well as on the grass fields where the Huskers practice. Campers should bring both flat-soled shoes and cleated shoes. Campers are encouraged to bring their own helmet and shoulder pads. Lockers will be furnished.
  • Arrival and Departure Times - Please check each camp for check-in times. You will be sent follow-up information regarding where to check in. Ground transportation is available upon arrival and departure from the airport, bus depot or train station. Contact the football office at 402-472-3116 for details.
  • Health, Safety and Insurance Coverage - All participants should be covered by personal medical insurance. The accident insurance provided by the camp is on an excess basis. Also, all minor injuries and preventive care will be handled by the Nebraska athletic medicine staff. Please make sure your application is signed by your physician, certifying that you are able to participate in an active football school.
  • What to Bring - For High School Sessions I and II only, each athlete will be required to bring his own helmet, shoulder pads, T-shirts, football shoes, socks, supporters, jerseys and mouth guards. Helmets and shoulder pads will be available to rent ($15/helmet, $10/shoulder pads) at check-in. For live-in campers, please bring toiletries (such as toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc.). The residence halls are air conditioned, sheets and pillowcases will be provided, but blankets are not.
